MEDIAPRO Delegation from Spain Explores Partnership with Star Media in Beijing

On September 9, 2024, a delegation from Spain’s MEDIAPRO visited Star Media Production Services in Beijing, highlighting their enthusiasm for future collaboration and their keen insights into industry trends. The delegation included three distinguished members: Mr. Tatxo Benet, founder and CEO of MEDIAPRO Group (and part of the Spanish Prime Minister’s delegation to China), Ms. Pilar Jimenez, CEO of MEDIAPRO Asia-Pacific, and Ms. Xiaowen Liu, Director of Business Development for MEDIAPRO China.
They were warmly welcomed by Mr. Yang CHEN, President of Starlight Audiovisual Industrial Base, and Mr. Zheng Yi, General Manager of Star Media Production Services.
During the visit, Mr. Yang CHEN introduced Star Media’s strategic development plans and showcased the company’s cutting-edge VP/XR virtual production technologies. The delegation was impressed by Star Media’s technological leadership and the advancements being made in the audiovisual industry.
The MEDIAPRO team had the unique opportunity to experience Macbeth, China’s first XR digital drama, which offered them an immersive blend of technology and artistic performance.
In addition to the drama viewing, the delegation toured Star Media’s Metaverse Digital Human Virtual Production Motion Capture Studio and New Audiovisual Application Scenarios Lab, where they gained deeper insights into Star Media’s production capabilities and commitment to innovation. The MEDIAPRO team expressed high praise for Star Media’s forward-thinking approach and technological achievements.
The visit also included a roundtable discussion, where both parties exchanged views on the current state of the media industry globally. Mr. Yang CHEN highlighted the transformation underway in China’s media industry, driven by digitalization, intelligence, and media convergence. He emphasized the rise of new media and the opportunities and challenges it presents, as well as the need for continuous innovation, enhanced content quality, and expanded market channels.
The MEDIAPRO delegation shared their own experiences from Spain, noting the importance of international collaboration in today’s globalized media landscape. Both sides agreed on the need for stronger partnerships to leverage shared resources and explore new market opportunities. They discussed the potential for collaborative content creation, combining cultural insights and creative ideas to produce impactful media products, as well as opportunities for joint development of advanced media technologies.
The meeting concluded with mutual commitments to exploring future cooperation, laying the foundation for a strong partnership between Star Media and MEDIAPRO. This successful exchange reinforced both parties’ shared vision for international collaboration and innovation in the media industry.
